Connie Essen
Connie, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Mount St. Joseph University in 1998. In 2012, she moved along with her husband and 3 daughters to the Charlotte area. In 2015 Connie joined Tracy’s team at New Mentality in Mooresville where she was trained to be a Neurofeedback Technician. Knowing that neurofeedback is a type of brain training to teach the brain new and more efficient habits, she was anxious to get started.
At New Mentality she trained a variety of clients including veterans with PTSD, adults that wanted to improve their overall stress levels, clients with traumatic brain injuries, and children with ADD, anxiety, etc. In December of 2020, she moved over to Mental Edge Fitness inside Champions Sports Performance in Cornelius. Here, she trains our clients to achieve peak performance ranging from adults wanting to be better at their job to young athletes wanting to improve their focus on and off the field/court.
“The past 6 years have been such a gift. I have seen so many people’s lives change for the better because of neurofeedback. When I started this job, I treated veterans with PTSD. To see the difference in them from the start of treatment to the end was and is one of the most rewarding experiences in my life".
Kathy Hodge
Kathy Hodge has been a Neurofeedback technician since March of 2020. In October of 2020, I visited New Mentality seeking Neurofeedback treatments to assist me with sleep issues and distractibility. The treatment was life-changing. As a long time peer coach my love for helping people live their best life was a perfect match with the mission Tracy Alston has at Mental Edge Fitness Solutions..
“Before starting at Mental Edge Fitness Solutions, For 5 years Kathy was a staff member at Grace Life International. Working successfully as a Discipleship Counselor she then transitioned into peer mentoring and coaching. This gave her more time to spend with her clients according to their needs. It was upon learning about Neurofeedback that I connected the reason why we struggle with consistency to live our best life. Kathy has been married to her spouse for 32 years. They have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren. My favorite pastime is hopping in our truck and exploring the beauty of North Carolina. However, my most favorite place to be is with those I love.
